Iranian VOD highlights: 'Viper of Tehran' and more

The highly anticipated series 'Viper of Tehran', directed by Saman Moqaddam and produced by Javad Farhani, is set to make a debut on Iranian Video On Demand (VOD) platforms.

The series marks a reunion of talents, with Moqaddam and Peyman Maadi collaborating again after two decades, following 'Cafe Setareh'.

This time, the spotlight is on Maadi, making his first appearance on a home market series.

Maadi and Pouya Mahdavizadeh co-wrote the script, creating an intriguing narrative that has kept audience eagerly awaiting the series release.

Besides Maadi, the cast list includes renowned names such as Sahar Dolatshahi, Azadeh Samadi, Pejman Jamshidi, Merila Zarei, Mahsa Hejazi, Bahador Maleki, Behafarid Qaffarian, Niloufar Koukhani, Touraj Aslani, Amir Ahmad Qazvini, and Mohammad Seddiqi-Mehr.

Another noteworthy addition to Iranian VODs is a movie titled 'Anti', directed by Amir-Abbas Rabiee and produced by Mohammad-Reza Shafiee.

The film explores a compelling theme with its tagline “A love that is sacrificed in the shadow of politics”, offering a thought-provoking cinematic experience.

Also, 'Paper Dream', directed by Ali Atshani and co-produced by Atshani and Saeed Pakestani, has recently made a debut on VOD platforms.

'Paper Dream' has captivated global audiences with more than 90 international showings and has garnered numerous awards at different international film festivals.

The screenplay, written by Jaber Qasem-Ali, features performances by Mina Vahid, Kamran Tafti, Zeinab Maleki, and Amir-Hossein Rezazadeh.
